Andover also offers a history of the satellite station and a vast number of snow machine and ATV trails, places to fish and many mountains and woods for the hunter. Grafton Notch State park is a must see in its self, many hiking spots for seasoned hiker or short trails through the woods such as Screw auger falls “where you can learn the history of Maine’s logging industry” mother walker falls, and moose cave. Along East B Hill located in the middle of Andover and Upton you will find beautiful views, and two very beautiful hiking trails known as the cataracts and Dunn’s notch. Byron is a special treat where you will find Coos Canyon; you can pan for gold along the swift river, dive from the cliffs if you dare, visit the local shop to purchase and learn all about Maine Gems while enjoying a down home atmosphere with a nice meal and ice cream for dessert. Roxbury Village has a small eat in store, a lovely pond with a boat launch and beach. Ice fishing is also a hit in Roxbury and is surrounded by ATV and snow machine trails. If visiting in February the yearly ice fishing derby takes place, and is a must see. The Rangeley Lakes region offers a small town atmosphere with museums, restaurants, gift shops, lakes, the wildlife, fish, and views are plentiful during every season. ATV, snowmobile, and boat rentals are available.
